Tri-ocular auditor. Scientific empath. Professional sceptic.
Jillex originates from the planet Orf, where her species evolved a third eye to perceive lies, subtext, and misleading footnotes. In her youth, she was considered unusually rebellious for filing independent research reports before she was legally authorised to read them.
Drawn to cosmic irregularities, she joined the Department’s Quantitative Narrative Oversight Division, the branch responsible for informing the universe when it has exceeded recommended complexity. Her scanner, biologically linked and only partially cooperative, is classified as semi-sapient and quietly resentful of the designation.
Jillex understands existence through measurement and proof. Feelings confuse her. Metaphors irritate her. Unstructured conversation is, in her words, “a waste of universal bandwidth.”
And yet she maintains a private respect for Nora, whose presence contradicts every model Jillex trusts and therefore cannot be ignored.
Where Korl venerates process, Jillex dissects it. Her clarity, precision, and unwillingness to indulge comforting illusions have already prevented several irreversible catastrophes.
She considers this an acceptable margin of usefulness.
